IFFCO-Tokio: IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Company Limited has appointed Sanjeev Chopra as Director – Operations, the company announced in a post on its official LinkedIn page on September 9. Chopra has been associated with IFFCO-Tokio since 2001 and brings more than 35 years of experience in the Indian general insurance industry to the role.
According to the announcement, Chopra’s background spans financial strategy, underwriting, reinsurance, investments, governance and regulatory compliance. IFFCO-Tokio stated that his appointment is intended to strengthen the company’s operational functions as it continues its growth trajectory.
The company did not disclose Chopra’s specific responsibilities under the new title, his reporting line, or an effective date for the appointment.

IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance is a joint venture between the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative (IFFCO) and Tokio Marine Group, one of Japan’s largest insurance conglomerates. The company was incorporated in December 2000 and has since built a pan-India distribution network spanning retail lines such as motor, health, travel and home insurance, alongside corporate lines including property, marine and liability insurance.
Chopra’s tenure with the company dates back to 2001, placing him among IFFCO-Tokio’s longer-serving senior executives. The company’s announcement did not detail his prior designations or specific portfolios held during that period.
