ManipalCigna has launched a new health plan offering unlimited sum insured, with a one-time deductible structure for policyholders.

NEW DELH – ManipalCigna Health Insurance on Tuesday launched a health plan that offers an unlimited sum insured option and a deductible that policyholders need to clear only once in ten years, the company said. The product, called INFINIX, targets customers in India’s Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities and carries city-level pricing, the insurer said in a statement. It did not disclose premium rates or the deductible amounts.

INFINIX is sold in two versions. INFINIX NOW is meant for people who already have health cover and want to move to unlimited coverage, which applies from the first day of the policy. INFINIX CORE is aimed at first-time buyers and allows them to reduce applicable waiting periods, the company said.

Both versions offer a choice between a Rs 10 lakh sum insured and an unlimited sum insured, with policy terms of one, two or three years and optional add-on covers. The company said the unlimited cover is subject to policy terms, conditions and exclusions.

ManipalCigna: How the deductible and hospital network work

Under the one-time aggregate deductible, policyholders must exhaust the deductible only once over ten policy years, while the associated premium discount continues for the full period, the insurer said.

The plan also has a three-tier hospital network called Smart Care, with Classic, Premier and Premier+ options. Customers can pick a tier based on hospitals, location and what they are willing to pay, which affects the premium, the company said. ManipalCigna described the deductible structure, the network tiers and the maternity feature below as industry firsts. Reuters could not independently verify that claim.

The maternity benefit has a one-year waiting period for new buyers. The chosen cover increases by 100% each year after the second policy year, up to 1,000% of the selected amount. A male policyholder who is eligible can extend the benefit to his spouse even if she is not insured under the policy, the company said.

Other features include unlimited e-consultations with psychologists and nutritionists, and coverage for listed high-end diagnostic tests such as PET-CT, PET MRI, coronary angiography and endoscopic ultrasound when prescribed and carried out at a hospital. Eligible non-resident Indian and overseas citizen of India customers who choose the unlimited option get an additional premium discount, and a no-claim discount applies for claim-free years.

“Customers are looking for more than a sum insured; they are looking for confidence that their coverage will remain relevant as healthcare costs, family needs and life stages evolve,” Joydeep Saha, the company’s managing director and chief executive, said in the statement. He cited the insurer’s India Health Quotient research for the shift in expectations.

ManipalCigna: Extension of SARVAH strategy

INFINIX extends the approach of the company’s SARVAH plan, which targets lower-income households in Tier 3 and smaller markets, to larger cities. SARVAH was named Product of the Year 2025 in the health insurance category at the 17th Product of the Year awards.
