Gopal Snacks has received the insurer’s final approval for its ₹36.40 crore claim linked to the Rajkot fire.
Gopal Snacks: Almost 22 months after a fire broke out at one of its production units in Gujarat, Gopal Snacks Limited has told the country’s stock exchanges that its insurer has approved the last payment due on the claim.
In a disclosure dated October 1, 2026, the company said it received approval from its insurance company for ₹36.40 crore (₹363.98 million, as stated in the filing) as a “full and final” claim, paid as part of reinstatement.
What Gopal Snacks Told the Exchanges
In its update to BSE and NSE, the company made two disclosures.
First, it said it has received approval from the insurer for ₹36.40 crore as a full and final claim, as part of reinstatement.
Second, it said it has received an aggregate ₹77.43 crore (₹774.27 million in the filing) towards the fire claim. According to the filing, this figure includes three components:
the interim payments disclosed earlier;
income from the sale of scrap; and
the full and final approval announced in the letter.

By The Insurance Reporter’s arithmetic, the aggregate less the final approval leaves about ₹41.03 crore. That sum covers the earlier interim payments and the scrap sale income together, and the company has not split it between the two.
Gopal Snacks – The December 2024 Fire
The incident took place on December 11, 2024, at one of the company’s production units at GIDC Metoda, Taluka Lodhika, Rajkot, Gujarat. The company said the latest update follows its earlier disclosures on the incident.
The filing does not restate details of the fire itself, such as its cause or the damage to plant and inventory.
Gopal Snacks: What the Filing Does Not Say
The company did not disclose the total value of the claim originally lodged, the extent of the loss, or when the final amount will be credited. It also did not explain how “reinstatement” applies to this settlement, or say whether the settlement closes all insurance-related matters from the fire.
